Eventually............!

The house looks like the inside of a warehouse where a bomb has gone off!  No chance of crafting and even day-to-day living is a bit of a struggle but it is all in the greater good of having a new kitchen/family room so I am sure it will be worth it.

The decorator is in at the moment but next Thursday all the units are being removed and the following Monday the new kitchen installation begins.  So it will be getting worse before it gets better............aaaaargh!

In the meantime, I have been playing tennis, visiting friends and family and generally doing anything to avoid being at home too much.  Have been struggling with gallbladder(?) problems which means that I am often a bit wobbly.  Here's hoping it gets sorted soon.

Bad, bad blogger

Wel, that makes about 2 weeks since my last entry so I need a good slap really!

The kitchen is moving on.  We have plastered the walls and ceilings, put in all the lights in the ceiling and am now waiting to pack up all the cupboards before the builders return on 5th September to remove them.  I am getting quite excited about the whole thing now.

I went up to the Festival of Quilts for 2 days with my mum and Jules.  We had a great time and bought some lovely stuff.  I am desperate to do some quilting but have no table to work on.  Patience, patience!

The garage was blitzed this weekend and how!  Nikky and Steve came down on Saturday and with the boys, we completedly gutted the whole place and it is now looking wonderful.  Apart from some items which need to be sold at a car boot sale (very few) and a freezer which is being sold, I could get my car in there and I have never managed that for the last 13 years!!!  It was a busy but productive day and thank goodness for the skip!

This week is a mixed bag.  A funeral of a family friend, my niece's visit from Oz and a picnic in the park to look forward to.  Hope your week is good too.

Oh my goodness - what have I done???

Thought I'd just show you a couple of photos of work on the kitchen.  It's coming on/down..............!!!This is what it looks like from one particular view point.  Much as ever was, please note door hanging off hinge although to be honest if it looked as good as this photo appears to make it, I might have saved my money!!  But just to give you the rest of the story................ So it is going to be very different!.  You might be wondering where everything is.  Don't worry.  We still have it................Mainly in the sitting room, my bedroom and the study/craft room.  And yes, that is a microwave sitting behind the sofa.  Oh yes, and that's Monty's bed.  (He doesn't much approve of all the goings-on as you can imagine!)

So here's to another successful day.  I need to re-sort this lot over the next few days.  We have a month's grace before they remove the units and I would like my lounge back for some of that time - especially as I have a visitor or two before then!
